Information
About Selling Your Used Gear:
There is a non-refundable
fee of $15 per gear item. A gear item is defined as a container,
reserve, main or cypress. The fee applies to each one of
these items; therefore if you have a complete set of gear
with a cypress the cost will be $60.00. All items need
to be sent to Sunshine Factory, the fee paid and in our
possession before listing. Part of the fee includes a Website
listing for 32 weeks listed under our "used gear" section,
this listing will include a detailed description, price
and a picture of all your gear. We also may, from time
to time, list your gear on our Auction.
We will be informing
potential buyers of your equipment on the phone, through
our dealer network and through the drop zone customers
at Skydive City. After the 32 weeks we either ship the
gear back at your expense or you can pay another listing
fee of $10 per each gear item. The other part of the fee
includes equipment/gear inspections, performed here by
a Master Rigger. This needs to be done because, in a sense,
Sunshine Factory is endorsing the condition of your equipment
and putting our reputation behind it. If there is any work
that the Rigger recommends being done before the gear is
sold, you are responsible for paying for this before we
are able to list your equipment. We will only sell equipment
in top condition.
Part of the inspection
process is that your reserve will be unpacked so the Rigger
can inspect the condition of the reserve also. We notify
the purchaser of this and that they are responsible for
getting the reserve repacked. If you decide to take your
rig back before the 32 weeks, it will be returned unpacked
and you are responsible for the repack. Of course, after
32 weeks, it is out of date anyway.
It will take approximately
2 - 3 weeks to process your equipment and to list it onto
the auction. The 32 weeks starts from the first time that
your gear is listed on our website, not the date The Sunshine
Factory receives your gear.
The fee for non-gear
items is $5 for each item (jumpsuit, gear bag, altimeter,
audible - etc.) This fee includes the listing on the auction
and used section on the website. It also includes a picture
of the item, which we have found helps to sell them. Our
commission fee is 20% for items selling for less than $2500.00
and 15% for items selling for over $2501.00. On the web
site there is a reserve price that is set by you. The reserve
price will be set so that we earn our commission above
the minimum you want to receive. In other words if you
want to receive $500 for your item, we will set the reserve
at $625 (20% commission $625.00 x 20% = $500.00) You/we
are not obligated to sell the item if it does not reach
the reserve. We will contact you, the seller, with all
offers we receive below the reserve price.
On used gear we
offer a 20-day, no questions asked, return policy on items
returned in the same condition. This needs to be done on
all the used gear offered. You will get paid after the
20 days are up. If you have any questions or need any further
information, please do not hesitate to contact me. There
is also a form that you will need to fill out and return
with the gear items you want listed by Sunshine Factory.
